Searching by Custom Fields

You can enable your fields to be searched on on the client tab. By default all fields will not be searchable, however you can enabled them one by one.

From Setup > Client > Custom Fields you can see all your custom fields defined (and create further ones), and you will also see a number of switches for each custom field you make.

For the custom field you wish to enable searching on the client tab, you need to find the field, and in the Search column switch the switch to show the blue coloured icon. This will save immediately and be available for searching.

When clicking on Clients now on the left hand module list, you will see the Custom Fields option as shown above. Click on that tab and you will then see your custom fields you can search by.

You can then search on the fields required, along with any of the other fields on the other tabs on the left hand side. If the field is defined as a number or date, you will also have the drop-down option to select if the search is to be Greater Than, Equal to, or Less than the value you want to search by.

When the criteria is all entered that you require, click Search and clients matching will be displayed as per the normal search methods

This is a system wide setting – if you enabled search by custom fields they will be available to all Profiler users.
